Organic Sugar Health Benefits and Nutritional Value

Organic Sugar Health Benefits and Nutritional Value

Did you know that in 2019, Indians consumed 27.5 million metric tons (million metric tons) sugar according to Statista? Indians have a sweet tooth! An article in Mumbai Mirror revealed that India’s per capita sugar intake has fallen by 2kg.

The shift in sugar consumption is due to consumers switching to healthier sugar options. This also highlights the demand for healthier sugar. Despite artificial sweeteners being promoted as healthy sugar alternatives by manufacturers, they can also contain harmful chemicals. What should you do?

It’s easy to switch to organic sugar.

Are organic sugar health benefits real or marketing tricks? You want to know more about organic sugar health benefits? Keep reading for the scoop.

What is Organic Sugar?

Sugar has a poor reputation in the fitness and health community. It is not the amount of sugar you consume that can affect your health. But, quality of sugar does make a difference. You are less likely to endanger your health if you consume higher quality sugar in controlled quantities.

Organic sugar is high-quality sugar. Organic sugar is simply sugar made from organically grown sugarcane. It is also naturally processed which means there are no chemicals used in the refining process.

It has many health benefits that make it stand out from non-organic sugars. In the second half of this article, we will discuss a number of organic sugar health benefits.

100g of organic sugar typically has the following nutritional profile.

Different types of organic sugar

These are the most common types of organic sugar:

  • Cane sugar, raw and organic
  • Organic refined sugar
  • Organic sweeteners or healthy sugar substitutes

Raw, organic sugar is the most healthful type of sugar because it has undergone the least processing. Refined organic sugar is healthier than natural sugar. Organic sweeteners or healthy sugar substitutes are an excellent option for diabetics and those who are calorie conscious.

We have now covered the basics of sugar types and their benefits, so let’s get on to organic sugar health benefits.

5 Major Organic Sugar Health Benefits

The health benefits of organic sugar go beyond satisfying sweet cravings. Here are some lesser-known benefits of organic sugar:

Organic Sugars do not Contain Pesticides

Organic sugars have no pesticides, which is one of the greatest and most widely-recognized health benefits.

Sugarcane is susceptible to parasitic attacks from termites, grasshoppers and whiteflies. Red rot, smut and weeds can also impact the yield and hinder the sugar extraction process.

Many farmers spray their crops with dangerous amounts of chemicals and pesticides to protect them from disease. These toxins could make it into sugarcane juice which can then be processed for sugar. As the harmful toxins increase in every step, so the problem becomes more serious.

They have a higher nutritional value

Sugar is sugar at the surface.

100g of sugar has 99.6g of carbohydrates from sugar. You will be able to see that raw, organic sugar is more nutritious than refined sugar. It is also rich in amino acids, making it a healthier option.

Refined sugar, on the other hand, only contains sucrose, glucose, while organic sugar will contain some fructose, along with sucrose, glucose.

Flavor Profile with Enhanced Flavor

Organic sugar has a higher flavour profile and health benefits. Refined sugar goes through several steps that involve chemicals such as sulphur dioxide and calcium hydroxide. Refined organic sugar can also undergo several stages of refinement, but it doesn’t require chemical treatment. This gives it a richer flavour and makes it taste slightly more delicious.

Raw organic cane sugar, on the other hand will retain some of the flavours of the molasses. Molasses syrup gives the sugar a caramelized texture, making it ideal for baking.

Treatment for Diseases

Alternative medicines such as Unani and Ayurveda claim that sugarcane or sugarcane juice has therapeutic properties. These properties are lost when the sugarcane juice is processed. Raw organic can sugar is the best alternative to raw sugarcane juice.

It is a high-carbohydrate and iron-rich medicine that can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including fever, fatigue, anaemia and inflammatory diseases.

Organic sugar also contains enough antioxidants and oligosaccharides to strengthen your immune system.

Low Carbon Footprint

Making an environmentally-conscious choice is one of the many organic sugar health benefits that one may overlook. Organic farming produces healthier crops, but it also promotes eco-friendly practices. Organic farming helps reduce pollution, soil erosion and water wastage. Organic products can be enjoyed with peace of mind.

It may not be healthy to cut out sugar completely. Instead of focusing on how to reduce sugar, it is better to concentrate on how to incorporate higher quality sugar. Organic sugar is definitely worth the investment, even though it may not be a superfood.

Can You Swim In Magnetic Lashes, Or Are Mermaids Out Of Luck?

Magnetic lashes are a great alternative to glue-on lashes, but can you swim in magnetic lashes? Not necessarily. While some brands of magnetic eyeliner are waterproof, you can still lose a set of lashes in the pool or at the beach

If you plan to swim, your best bet is to keep it simple and wear a basic coat of waterproof mascara. You could also be a rebel and dare to go bare!

In my experience, it’s better to apply magnetic lashes to a clean, dry face after your swim than trying to swim in them.

My experience with magnetic lashes

For me, magnetic lashes have been a huge timesaver. Gluing on lashes takes time and some days I lack the patience and skills to get the job done.

As long as you’ve got a steady hand when you apply your eyeliner, anyone can excel at magnetic lash application.

Like most glue-on strip lashes, magnetic lashes aren’t recommended for water wear. I have worn mine to a few weddings (and through a few tears) with no loosening of the magnetic liner.

But the one time I wore them in the shower, I lost one down the drain. This was as close as I got to attempting swimming, so I wouldn’t recommend fully submerging them.

In this article I’ll cover a variety of topics on magnetic lashes and care, starting with:

  • What are magnetic lashes?
  • What’s the difference between magnetic and glue on lashes?
  • Different types of magnetic lashes
  • Can you wear magnetic lashes swimming?
  • How long do magnetic lashes last?
  • Makeup and magnetic lashes
  • Reusing magnetic lashes
  • Magnetic lash safety
  • Magnetic last maintenance

From double magnet lashes to magnetic liner lashes, let’s talk falsies—here’s what you need to know.

What are magnetic lashes?

Magnetic lashes are a safe alternative to glue-on lashes or lash extensions.

The line of the lashes is infused with magnetic particles. Rather than sticking to an adhesive, the lashes stick to another magnetized surface. The lashes I prefer using come with a magnetic eyeliner. If you’re doing liner anyway, this lets you skip a step—win-win!

Magnetic lashes vs regular false lashes

So what’s the difference between regular falsies and magnetic lashes?

  • Standard false lashes: these come with an application glue or require you to buy one separately. The glue is applied to the line of the lashes, and the lashes stick to your natural lash line.
  • Magnetic lashes use magnets, either applied to your lid via a magnetic liner or by sticking two magnetic lashes together above and below the lash line.

Types of magnetic lashes

There are two main types of magnetic lashes:

Lashes with liner

To apply lashes with magnetic liner, you need to apply the liner to your eyelid. Once the liner dries, the magnetic lashes rest against the liner and stay on through magnetization.

Double magnetized lashes

Double magnetized lashes have two double sets of lashes.

Instead of applying a magnetic solution to your eyelid, you sandwich your natural lashes between two sets of lashes that have a magnetized line. The two false lash lines “snap” together over your natural lashes to stay intact.

Can you wear magnetic eyelashes while swimming?

While you could attempt a dip in the pool with magnetic lashes, you might lose them.

YouTuber, A Little Wildflower tried swimming in hers and found that a quick dunk left the lashes in place, but not a real swim. She also found jumping into the pool with lashes on to be a chaotic experience.

Sadly for mermaids, magnetic lashes have the best results on dry land.

The biggest issue with swimming in magnetic lashes is the force of the water. As you move through the water, the lashes shift and loosen. The magnetic liner may also be degraded by salt water or chlorine, causing the bond to break down.

How long do magnetic lashes last?

There are several brands of magnetic lashes which last all day.

The brands Aroamas and Luxillia do particularly well in this department.

Roller coasters and magnetic lashes

YouTuber, Twilightchic143 was able to keep hers on through a roller coaster ride. If well cared for, you can expect most magnetic lashes to last you about a month before needing to be replaced.

Can I wear makeup with magnetic lashes?

Absolutely! You can wear makeup with your magnetic lashes.

Just be sure to apply the lashes first. If you apply eyeshadow before applying lashes, the powder could prevent the lashes from magnetizing.

Also, the magnetic liner may not stick to your lids if you’ve applied primer and eyeshadow first.

Many magnetic lash users apply mascara over fake lashes. Using waterproof mascara will prevent your mascara from running in the rain but won’t help keep lashes on in the pool.

There’s no specific brand of makeup that works better with magnetic lashes. Yet.

How many times can I reuse magnetic lashes?

The number of times you can reuse your magnetic lashes varies by brand.

While brands like Glamnetic can be worn about 30-times, Kiss magnetic lashes are good for 50-uses. Check with your favorite magnetic lash brand.

You can expect your lashes to last somewhere in between these 30-50 times. The better you care for them, the longer they’ll last.

Are magnetic lashes safe?

Magnetic lashes are considered safer than most other false lash applications.

No glue is applied to your eyelid or lashes, which minimizes the risk of infection or allergic reaction.

Of course, anytime you stick anything to your face there are some risks of side effects. With magnetic lashes, you may experience irritation or a reaction to the magnetic liner.

If you have sensitive skin, try doing a patch test with the magnetic liner on the inside of your wrist to see if your skin reacts before you use it on your eyes.

Magnetic lashes maintenance

When caring for lashes, be sure to clean them. This is an especially important step for lashes used with a magnetic liner.

MoxieLash suggests cleaning the lashes with an oil-free makeup remover. Oils in your skin can break down the magnetic lash line over time. Once lashes are clean, store them in a dry container until your next use.

Key takeaways on magnetic lashes

Magnetic lashes are a safe and affordable option for those who want the glam without the glue.

A good set of magnetic lashes can last all day and be reused up to 50-times if cared for. While your magnetic lashes can get wet, I don’t recommend swimming in them. The force of the water, and chemicals in the water, may move or lose, your lashes.

Regular maintenance extends the life of your lashes. Check your manufacturer’s guidance on magnetic lash maintenance for your brand.

In most cases, an oil-free makeup remover works well to remove natural skin oils from your lashes.

How long do magnetic lashes stay on?

They will actually last for as long as you take care of them as there is no glue to clump up on the lash band, contorting and messing up the lash, which makes normal lashes unusable after a few uses. The lash and eyeliner hold up to (essentially, the entire day).

Are magnetic lashes reusable?

If you find yourself ripping out your own lashes or tugging at leftover goo two days later, then allow me to introduce you to the concept of magnetic lashes. What makes magnetic lashes so appealing is that they’re reusable, they don’t require messy glue and they’re less likely to rip off your natural lashes.

Do magnetic eyelashes ruin your real lashes?

No, magnetic lashes won’t ruin your natural lashes and are considered relatively safe, especially if you’re using magnetic eyeliner lashes.

Does Coconut Oil Make Your Eyelashes Grow?

Does coconut oil make your eyelashes grow? No, coconut oil won’t make your eyelashes grow longer or faster than usual.

Home Remedies For Eyebrow And Eyelash Growth

It can help your lashes reach their maximum length and stay full and healthy.

Coconut oil is derived from the meat and milk of coconuts. There are many coconut oil products designed for your hair or lashes. But it’s best to use pure virgin or refined coconut oil.

In this article, I will explain the benefits of coconut oil for your lashes and clear up some misconceptions about what coconut oil can and can’t do.

I’ll talk about the safety of using coconut oil around your eyes. I will also discuss other oils you should consider using and explain how to apply coconut oil to your lashes for maximum benefit.

Is coconut oil safe to use around the eyes?

Yes. Many people worry that using coconut oil on your eyelashes will harm your eyes, but that’s not the case.

As long as you apply the oil to your eyelashes carefully and avoid getting any in your eyes, you’ll be fine. Using the right tools to apply the oil is crucial.

Dr. Rupa Wong recommends using an applicator brush to apply coconut oil to your eyes instead of a Q-tip. That’s because q-tips have tiny fibers that can potentially enter and irritate your eyes.

Does coconut oil help eyelashes grow?

Now, on to the big question: Will coconut oil make your eyelashes grow longer or faster? If so, what is the scientific reasoning behind that?

It’s important to understand that coconut oil is not a magic solution that will cause your lashes to grow to their full length overnight. Neither will it cause your lashes to grow twice as long as they usually do.

What it will do is ensure your lashes remain full, healthy, and moisturized so that they can grow to their full potential and maintain that length.

Coconut oil helps your lashes grow to their full potential

Coconut oil contains vitamins and fatty acids that are critical for hair health. There’s a reason many people use coconut oil on their hair, and your lashes are no different.

If your eyelashes are lacking the nutrition and moisture they need, they may have trouble growing to their full length. They may fall out quickly, making it seem like your eyelashes are not growing fast enough. That can also make your lashes appear thinner than they are.

Weak eyelashes can get damaged quicker when using styling tools like eyelash curlers or when wearing lash extensions. Using coconut oil can strengthen your lashes and give them the strength they need to survive your intense styling sessions.

Applying coconut oil to your lashes won’t instantly make them grow full and thick. On the other hand, applying it consistently to your eyelashes will help them grow as much as they can, prevent them from getting damaged, and prevent the lashes from falling out.

The benefits of coconut oil for eyelashes

Using coconut oil on your lashes daily will bring you a host of benefits. Even applying oil just a few times a week to your lashes will bring you long-lasting positive results. Here is what will happen after applying coconut oil to your lashes every day.

Stronger and voluminous lashes

Coconut oil will nourish and strengthen your lashes. It will add volume by hydrating your lashes and preventing them from becoming dry and brittle.

Your stronger lashes won’t get damaged as easily. As a result, they will look thicker and longer.

Softer and glossier lashes

I applied coconut oil to my lashes for one week and noticed they were significantly softer and gentler to the touch. Despite suffering from coarse eyelashes due to getting them permed, I was able to soften them up with one simple ingredient: coconut oil.

My eyelashes became glossier. They not only felt better, but they looked better, too! You’ll enjoy the improved texture, and your eyelashes might even feel lighter.

Protection against bacteria

Despite internet claims to the contrary, according to the School of Medicine Sciences at UNSW Sydney coconut oil doesn’t kill bacteria.

It can serve as a barrier against bacteria, fungi, and irritants that can damage your lashes. Those bacteria can also lead to hair loss.

Using coconut oil on your lashes at night can be particularly effective. Your bed sheets and pillowcases can contain all sorts of irritants and bacteria that are harmful to eyelash health, especially if you don’t wash them often.

While you can use a hair cap to protect the hair in your head, coconut oil is the best solution to protect your lashes while rolling around all night.

Prevents eyelashes from falling out

As I just mentioned, coconut oil can protect your lashes from bacteria that can cause them to fall out. However, coconut oil has long been studied for its hair loss prevention qualities.

One study found that coconut oil prevented protein loss and, subsequently, hair loss more than other oils like sunflower and mineral oils. If your eyelashes are damaged due to bleaching, perming, or UV exposure, coconut oil can help.

Which coconut oil should you use?

It’s best to use an all-natural oil instead of coconut oil with added ingredients. If there is a long list of chemical additives in the ingredients section on the bottle, avoid it. You don’t know what those ingredients can do to your eyelashes or what will happen if they get into your eye.

I like the Nutiva brand of cold-pressed unrefined USDA organic coconut oil.

Any pure coconut oil will do, whether it is refined or virgin coconut oil. Since virgin oil is less processed, it remains a slightly superior choice. You can get coconut oil in your local pharmacy or grocery store; even oil in the cooking section will work if it is pure.

If the coconut oil seems solid, you’re probably keeping it in a place that is too cold. Once it warms up, it will become liquid again.

Coconut oil remains solid until 74 degrees Fahrenheit, so keep it at or slightly above room temperature.

How to apply coconut oil on eyelashes

The first step is buying the right coconut oil – see above. You can add some aloe vera and mix it with the oil in a bowl before applying. Aloe vera can also hydrate and moisturize your lashes, but it’s optional.

Before applying any coconut oil to your lashes, make sure they are clean. To enjoy the full benefits of coconut oil, they can’t be dirty or have mascara on them.

Dip a soft makeup brush (or clean mascara spoolie) into the oil or mixture and apply it gently to your upper lashes. Clean the brush with water and repeat the process with your lower lashes.

Use a soft tissue or clean brush to remove excess oil from your eyelashes, eyelids, and around your eye.

When should you apply coconut oil to your lashes?

The best time to put coconut oil on your lashes is at night. That way, the oil can hydrate and nourish your lashes all night, and you’ll wake up to soft, gentle lashes. It will also protect your lashes while you sleep. Clean your eyelashes every morning.

If you put oil on in the morning, your eyelashes may appear greasy during the day. It will be easier for oil to get into your eyes; at night, your eyelids are closed and protect your eyes from the oil.

Which oil is best for growing eyelashes?

Coconut oil

This is the best oil for your lashes, as it is made of lauric acid, which is easily absorbed into the hair. It is also very lightweight. Those two factors make coconut oil easy to apply and easily absorbable.

Coconut oil also prevents hydro fatigue. This occurs when your hair or lashes get wet and dry quickly. It can happen when you shower often and then use a blowdryer to dry your lashes (yes, some people do that).

Sunflower oil

Sunflower oil and other oils contain linoleic acid, which is heavier and will only coat your lashes without being absorbed as deeply.

Olive oil

Olive oil for eyelashes is a decent choice as it contains several anti-inflammatory properties. On the other hand, it may be too heavy for some. Consider a lighter oil, like castor oil, almond oil, or argan oil. All of those oils are excellent for the hair on your head, as well, so they are dual-purpose.

Key takeaways on using coconut oil for eyelashes

Coconut oil has massive benefits for your hair and eyelashes. It will nourish your lashes, serve as a barrier to protect them from bacteria, and help them grow as long and thick as possible.

It’s best to apply coconut oil every night for optimal benefits. But, if you forget to do it one night, don’t worry. Avoid applying it in the morning, as that can lead to greasy eyelashes during the day, but continue applying it the following nights. If you don’t know where to get coconut oil, order it from Amazon and start applying the oil as soon as it arrives.

What helps your eyelashes grow?

Coconut oil. No-poo fans swear by coconut oil to moisturize their dry locks.
Castor oil. Castor oil — a type of vegetable oil — won’t make eyelashes grow, says Lee.
Olive oil.
OTC lash serum.
Biotin supplement.
Aloe vera.

Does coconut oil help eyelash grow?

Coconut oil does not help your eyelashes grow longer; instead, it enables them to grow to their full length and thickness. Coconut oil will not increase the rate your eyelashes grow, but it will prevent them from falling out as frequently. Coconut oil helps fight bacteria that can also lead to hair loss.

Why The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum Is A Favorite For Thirsty Skin

There’s so much hype around The Ordinary hyaluronic acid. You’re probably well-acquainted with the brand. But you have reservations about this specific product. Should you or shouldn’t you give this cult-favorite a try?

I’m a long-time beauty writer who’s a personal fan of The Ordinary hyaluronic acid. As such, I’m in the perfect position to spill the tea on this brand’s particular formulation.

I’ll share, what hyaluronic acid is and how The Ordinary’s version stacks up. This way, you’ll know if this popular serum is right for you or not.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan (GAG). It acts as a humectant that can bind to water molecules to help your skin keep moisture in. In other words, it absorbs water from the surrounding air to hydrate your skin.

Huge amounts of hyaluronic acid are naturally present in our skin. As you can imagine, this spells a host of benefits for your complexion. Think smooth, supple skin and a youthful-looking appearance.

Unfortunately, your skin’s ability to produce hyaluronic acid slows down with age. This is why your skin feels drier and thinner as the years go by. The resulting papery texture also makes it more prone to fine lines, crow’s feet, and wrinkles.

The good news is, topical skin care products can help replenish what your skin has lost over the years. From sheet masks to serums, hyaluronic acid is in the bulk of beauty products. This brings us to the focus of this topic: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5.

Note: Hyaluronic acid also goes by another name, sodium hyaluronate. Essentially the salt form, sodium hyaluronate works like good ol’ hyaluronic acid. So, if you spot either one on your product’s ingredient list, don’t worry, you’re in good hands.

What does The Ordinary hyaluronic acid do?

Chances are you’ve heard a great deal about The Ordinary hyaluronic acid, most of which are probably good things. And they aren’t wrong either, as this review will prove it to you.

Wards off skin dryness

First up, The Ordinary hyaluronic acid is the go-to serum for dry skin. Other skin types, like combination skin and oily skin, can also use it as it’s pretty lightweight.

The reason is, this serum uses low-, medium- and high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid. Combined with a next-generation 2% hyaluronic acid crosspolymer, The Ordinary hyaluronic acid serum provides multi-depth hydration. On top of that, it’s infused with vitamin B5 to intensify surface hydration.

The unique blend of hyaluronic acid molecules definitely shows its effectiveness. When I apply a few drops of the serum to my skin, it effortlessly sinks in. I also noticed long-lasting hydration throughout the day, with a slight plumping effect.

Downplays the signs of aging

Signs of aging easily show up on dry skin. That’s why it’s so important to keep your skin hydrated, not just for optimal skin health but also to minimize skin aging.

The Ordinary hyaluronic acid can help you with that. Thanks to its all-day moisturizing effects, it plumps up your skin to diminish the signs of laugh lines and frown lines. You can also dab a little around your eyes to downplay the appearance of crow’s feet.

Fun fact: Hyaluronic acid is often used in dermal fillers to smooth out wrinkles. But the price tag of injectables can be exorbitant. In comparison, The Ordinary hyaluronic acid is a cost-effective serum to add to your anti-aging routine.

Speeds up wound healing

If you have an open wound, like a just-popped pimple, hyaluronic acid may help speed up the healing process.

In a 2013 study, patients with leg ulcers topically applied hyaluronic acid to their wounds. As a result, they noticed faster recovery and less pain than those who didn’t.

Another 2016 study also showed similar benefits. Hyaluronic acid helped quicken wound recovery from inflammatory dental wounds, like mouth ulcers and gingivitis.

Besides that, scientific evidence indicates this humectant possesses antibacterial properties. Hyaluronic acid of a high molecular weight (which The Ordinary hyaluronic acid contains) may help reduce bacterial contamination. This, in turn, lowers the risk of skin infections.

Best for: Dry, oily, combination, mature, and normal skin types.

Can I use hyaluronic acid every day?

The term “hyaluronic acid” may make you think it works as an acid. Contrary to popular misconception, hyaluronic acid isn’t an acid at all (surprise, surprise!).

Unlike chemical exfoliants like glycolic acid and salicylic acid, hyaluronic acid is safe for daily use. You can even use it morning and night, without overdoing it.

Also, hyaluronic acid is a well-known team player. That means it goes well with any skincare ingredient under the sun. You can mix and match it with actives (like retinol and vitamin C) and non-actives (like aloe vera and shea butter).

You’ll also be happy to hear that there are rarely any side effects involved with hyaluronic acid. That said, lower-weight hyaluronic acid molecules are more likely to irritate your skin than their higher-weight counterparts.

As with any skincare product, it’s best to perform a patch test before using The Ordinary hyaluronic acid serum.

How to use hyaluronic acid

Incorporating hyaluronic acid into your current skincare regime is easy. For best results, apply hyaluronic acid right after your toner. The toner helps to moisten your skin for maximum absorption of the humectant.

To help hyaluronic acid do its best work, follow up with an emollient-infused moisturizer. Emollients are skincare ingredients that help soften and soothe your skin. They work by filling the gaps between your skin cells with lipids (fats) to keep it moisturized.

Emollients come in many forms that go well with the humectant, hyaluronic acid.

Oily skin types can try lightweight lotions and creams with a low water-to-oil ratio. This adds a protective layer to seal hyaluronic acid in without leaving behind a greasy residue.

Dry and mature skin types will do well with heavier emollients like oils and butter. Cocoa butter and petrolatum are some great options to layer on top of hyaluronic acid.

Key takeaways on The Ordinary hyaluronic acid

The Ordinary hyaluronic acid is a versatile addition to everyone’s skincare routine. No matter if you’re acne-prone or have sensitive skin, this serum can help promote healthy-looking skin.

As I’ve mentioned, The Ordinary hyaluronic acid helps quench your skin to keep it well-moisturized. Remember, hydrated skin is the foundation for healthy skin. Think of it as your primary defense against skin aging.

If you’d like to reap the benefits of hyaluronic acid for yourself, go add The Ordinary hyaluronic acid to your shopping cart now!

What does the ordinary hyaluronic acid do?

Hyaluronic acid is a moisturizing ingredient that occurs naturally in the skin. It attracts moisture to the skin and defends against dehydration over time. It replenishes the top layers of the skin, causing it to look smoother and plumper.

What does hyaluronic acid do to your face?

Hyaluronic acid supplements can help increase skin moisture and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Topical treatments can soothe redness and dermatitis, while injections can make skin appear firmer.

When should I use the ordinary hyaluronic acid?

This is a water-based product and would be used directly after cleansing.
Use this morning and evening if you wish.
Apply a few drops into the palm of your hands and apply to your face by massaging or patting it into your skin.

Can You Curl Eyelash Extensions?

Can you curl eyelash extensions? The concise answer is yes as long as you are curling at the base of your lashline. To curl eyelash extensions use a special heated eyelash curler (like the TOUCHBeauty Upgraded Heated Eyelash Curler) or mechanical curlers.

As a beauty technician, eyelash extensions are one of my favorite go-to beauty treatments for clients wanting the convenience of fabulous lashes all day long. They give eyelashes more definition, volume, length, and shape. And they enhance any makeup look without having to deal with the hassle of applying false lashes.

But be warned, not all extension types do well being curled and many don’t need extra curling since the extensions themselves come pre-curled.

If you’re planning on getting lash extensions or you are assisting someone, I’m here to help answer all your questions about curling lash extensions:

  • Should you curl eyelash extensions?
  • Can you curl and put mascara on eyelash extensions?
  • Mechanical curlers versus heated curlers
  • How to use a heated curler with eyelash extensions
  • How do you keep eyelash extensions curled?
  • Can you get a lash perm with eyelash extensions?

Should you curl your eyelash extensions?

You can curl your natural lashes while wearing extensions by re-curling the natural eyelashes to which the extensions are applied. Never curl the extensions anywhere above your lash line.

When placing the extensions, technicians use a specific preset curl to create the final shape.

If you try to curl the upper part of your extensions, you risk changing the preset curl too much, which could cause breaking, your extensions falling out, and ruining the shape of the extension.

Although you can curl your extensions, talk to your lash tech to make sure it won’t cause any structural damage.

Can you curl and put mascara on eyelash extensions?

Following the idea of curling your lash extensions, you can curl and put mascara on eyelash extensions.

But, not every type of lash extension can handle mascara.

Classic extensions are the only type of eyelashes that should have mascara applied. For hybrid, volume, and mega volume lashes, avoid mascara. These could cause the extension to look chunky or change shape.

Can You Curl Eyelash Extensions

Mechanical curlers vs. heated curlers

  • Heated eyelash curlers are a type of curler that uses heat to help shape the eyelashes. Usually, they work similarly to haircurlers by heating and shaping hair folicles.
  • Mechanical eyelash curlers are best avoided entirely if you have extensions because they can ruin your extensions. They are metal and silicon pincher-like tools that use pressure to curl the lash.

The best option if you have eyelash extensions is to use a heated curler since they shape the natural lash without damaging your lash extensions.

How to use a heated eyelash curler with eyelash extensions

When using a heated curler with lash extensions, it’s essential to follow some general steps:

  1. Properly clean and brush your false lashes and natural lashes. Make sure that your eyelashes are completely dry before using the curler!
  2. Begin heating the eyelash curler. Think of how you’d like to curl your lashes compared to your eye shape.
  3. Once the curler is warm, begin curling at the lash line. Do this by making soft movements from the eyelash base and curling up to the tips.
  4. While it’s still hot, hold and guide the eyelashes into the shape you desire. Keep holding them in that position until they’re completely cooled (this will help keep the form).
  5. Repeat the process 3 to 4 times for best results.

How do you keep eyelash extensions curled?

To keep your extensions curled, use a clean mascara brush to separate the fan and re-curl them. Do this only a couple of times a day, usually in the morning and at night so you don’t displace or loosen the extensions.

If you’re unsure about how often to re-curl your extensions, stick to the easy schedule of doing it once in the morning and once at night.

Can you get a lash perm with eyelash extensions?

No. Under no circumstance should you get a lash perm with lash extensions.

The chemicals used in a perm or lash lift could affect the bond between the lash and the lash extensions. The extensions would have a weaker bond. It would be harder for them to stay in place or attached to the natural lash at all.

If you are looking for any form of perm or lash lift, it’s recommended to get it before your lash extensions. Once done, give about two days for the perm to set before attaching any form of extensions. Be sure to let your lash technician know that you’re natural lashes have been permed before they start working.

Key takeaways on curling your eyelash extensions

You can curl your natural lashes while wearing extensions. Just follow our tips the heated curler steps carefully for the best eyelash curling practices.

Extensions don’t work well with a mechanical eyelash curler. Heated curlers are the best for extensions, as they don’t damage the extensions.

Classic eyelash extensions are the only type of eyelash extension that you can add mascara to. Don’t use mascara with any other kind, as it may mess up the shape and form. Use a clean mascara wand in the morning and night to clean and shape the extensions.

Do not get a lash perm or lash lift with extensions, as it could affect how long the extensions will last.

Can you curl your eyelash extensions?

You CANNOT use MECHANICAL eyelash curlers as they can prematurely damage your Eyelash Extensions. Eyelash extensions are created with a beautiful curl, but for those of you who want an extreme curl we recommend using a HEATED EYELASH CURLER.

Why are my lash extensions not staying curled?

Material: Oftentimes when natural lash extensions such as those made from real mink get wet, they lose the preset curl and become straight. Overheating: Cooking over high heat on the stove, grill, and oven can de-curl your lash extensions or even singe them.
